Abstract

It is becoming increasingly clear that software-level security measures alone (not to mention keeping devices offline) are no longer sufficient for protecting industrial equipment from malicious use.
Industrial device makers are generally aware of the upcoming European Cyber Resilience Act (EU CRA). But it’s quite a leap to upgrade device-level security and infrastructure for managing device identities, permissions, and licenses.

This presentation shows how industrial electronic device manufacturers solve challenges concerning device security and embedded software licensing, such as protecting against unauthorized changes to device settings or device firmware.
