“We decided to team up with Proekspert for the SPS exhibition,” says SandGrain`s Director of Business Development, Rolf van Gent, “because we believe there are great synergies we can achieve together to secure connected industrial devices. Proekspert’s many years of experience guiding their customers through ever-changing regulations and cyber threats are impressive. At SandGrain, we aim to add a strong foundation to a number of Proekspert’s solutions with our robust authentication solution, further enabling Proekspert to advise their customers on the right security solution for the specific use case at hand.”

Terry London, Proekspert Product Owner & Partner adds: “Proekspert leverages over 20 years of expertise to assist industrial device manufacturers in navigating the complexities of IEC 62443 compliance, ensuring robust cybersecurity measures are in place. Through comprehensive self-assessment and third-party evaluation services, we identify vulnerabilities and enhance the security posture of operational technology systems. SPS is the right place to be, because of the high competence level of the visiting companies and their concerns regarding security matters. Together with SandGrain we bring a lot of value.’

At the fair, the two companies will show the first integration efforts between Proekspert’s Secure Firmware Update solution and SandGrain’s Connected Device Authentication Solution, demonstrating how strong authentication of potentially large numbers of connected devices can be done easily and more robustly without using a traditional PKI infrastructure and x.509 certificates. They will demonstrate strong authentication of devices about to receive a firmware update, as well as guarantee firmware is not tampered with during the update.

“Now that the EU CRA has officially been adopted,” says Van Gent, “we are convinced that many connected device builders are struggling to understand what they have to do to meet the regulation without over-investing time and effort. We are looking forward to meeting them at our stand.”
